Blog Review of Educatorstechnology.com
As a K-State College of Ed student, my immersion into the world of classroom technology has been drastically accelerated. Now by no means am I a stranger to the world of applications and iPads, being raised by an electrical engineer has ensured that. However, I believe there is always more to learn, especially when we add the dimension of education to our discussion on technology.
The team of educators at educatorstechnology.com have put together a solid compilation of technology based classroom resources. Rest assured, this is content made by teachers for teachers. Personally found myself gravitating towards their section titled "Google Drive 4 Teachers." I believe the must haves for all technology integration in the classroom are 1) accessibility and 2) cross compatibility. Google drive provides us with the ability to pull our files from anywhere that we can access the internet as well as moving data between any google based app or device seamlessly.
So, you could say that I'm a bit of a fan of Google based applications and technology, and that didn't change much after I read up on some of the teacher specific chrome extensions I found through this website. One that I found particularly interesting was the introduction to JoeZoo, a chrome extension that allows teachers to grade papers from Google Docs. If your classroom already uses Google Docs to submit assignments, I think it may be worth checking out. Here is an introductory video to JoeZoo and how to install it.
Final Thoughts on Educatorstechnology.com:
Traversing through this website can be a bit daunting. The extensive categories upon subcategories of articles, info graphics, and applications create a website that is far more database than it is a friendly "How to." However, all of the resources they provide are filtered and vetted by professional educators and they link all of their pages to the original content creators. The team behind Educators Technology provide not only a great teaching resource but a means of finding other technology and teaching resources.
